BEANS

HARROWER
+ ACID EAGLE ROCK

In days of yore, a harrow was an old-fashioned farm tool used for breaking up ground. But the term, ‘harrower,’ became associated with one who ravaged or laid waste to something. In this case, I’m talking about that masked avenger wearing a live snake necklace, totally shredding your preconceived notions: Yeah, Beans is that dude. Backed by the demented sonics of Cleveland-cum-Buffalo producer Icky Reels, he’s serving up a slice of the future, now.

Knowing Harrower is a heroic dose of experimentation, Acid Eagle Rock is the chewable alternative. Produced by Senz Beats (plus Michael Dykehouse producing “Baryonyx”), Acid Eagle Rock is Beans barring out with cautionary tales toward stepping to him.

Zero NINE

With "Zero Nine," Rontronik expands on his ambient experimentation, moving toward more cinematic soundscapes. The album blends lush atmospheres with field recordings and synth textures, creating immersive environments that evoke emotion and depth. This shift into a more expansive, filmic approach marks a new chapter in his production style, showing his ability to evolve and adapt while staying true to his electronic roots.

STUDYING ABSENCE

“Studying Absence is about my lost histories, my ancestry, Southern - South Pacific, my first relationships, physical abuse, drug addiction and the ghosts of the south. The roadkill on a long winter night. I was all these things but not one of them.” — Hemlock Ernst

Beans

ZWAARD

No matter the threat level of Ripatti’s hostile production, Beans sounds cozy like a homebody, boundless in bravado, as though he could rhyme over erratic, hyper-aggressive percussion or disjointed negative space without breaking a sweat. He’s got “the business end of a rapier” pointed at adversaries on “ZWARD 1" in a preemptive strike because for Beans, “the way I stop the voices in my head is to chop yours off.“
